The First tube Mill was started in 1995 and sold 35,000 ERW tubes in the first year. We have now 4 tube nills and three galvanising lines. Installed Capacity of tubes 300,000tpa and galvanising of 80,000tpa.We are in the advance stage of having the fifth tube mill and the capacity will then be 350,000tpa from Q1. The size range of tubes are half inch to 8 inch and we also produce rectangles and squares.About 350 persons are employed in the Tube mill. The Merchant Bar Mill (MBM) is a new unit and are presently under hot trials. The capacity of the same is 300,000tpa for Merchant products, but if we produce partly rebars the capacity will be over 350,000tpa.Commercial trials are expected from November. Lighter sections of Flats, Angles, Square, Channels and rebars from 12mm to 36mm can be produced. Expected work force in this mill 250.We presently source HRC from 1.2mm to 7.5mm from Iran, China, Ukraine, CIS, India, Turkey, Egypt at apresent level of over 220,000 tpa and soon we will be needing over 330,000tpaFor the MBM we require mostly 150mmx150mmx6m billets, which we are sourcing from China, Ukraine, India. Our annual requirement on full capacity will reach over 400,000tpa. Our market for Tubes and hollow sections are 75-80% GCC and 20-25% to North America and Europe. Our market for merchant products and rebars would initially be GCC and MENA, while we would definitely venture at a later date to be in Europe and North America. I hope these clarify you querries.
